Allto Construction completed significant site-development work for the Bluebird Self Storage facility in Mono, Ontario.
Starting from the existing site, our scope included underground piping, building excavation, earthworks and parking-lot construction.
The former industrial property presented several subsurface challenges. Large quantities of buried concrete had to be removed before suitable underlying materials could be reached. Buried organic material and a high water table created additional excavation and construction challenges.
Where practical, excavated materials were screened and reused onsite, reducing both trucking requirements and the cost of imported aggregate.
By managing the difficult existing conditions and finding opportunities to reuse suitable material, the Allto team helped deliver a strong foundation for the completed commercial development.
