Hydrovac Excavation Services
Allto Construction provides professional hydrovac excavation for contractors, municipalities, utilities, businesses and property owners throughout South Central Ontario.
Hydrovac excavation uses pressurized water to loosen soil and a powerful vacuum to remove the material into the truck. This allows operators to excavate accurately while reducing the risk of damaging buried utilities and disturbing the surrounding area.
Our hydrovac excavation services include:
- Utility daylighting and potholing
- Underground service exposure
- Slot trenching
- Service pits
- Pole and sign holes
- Curb stop and valve access
- Culvert and catch basin cleanouts
- Debris and material removal
- Tank and vault cleanouts
- Tree-root-sensitive excavation
- Emergency excavation support
A Safer and More Precise Way to Dig
Mechanical excavation near buried utilities can create unnecessary risk. Hydrovac excavation gives the operator greater control and allows soil to be removed in a focused area.
This makes hydrovac a practical option for locating gas, hydro, communication, sewer and water services before conventional excavation begins.
Hydrovac does not eliminate the need for utility locates or proper excavation procedures, but it can significantly reduce the amount of mechanical digging required around known or suspected services.
Utility Daylighting and Potholing
Daylighting, also known as potholing, involves carefully exposing an underground utility so its exact horizontal and vertical position can be confirmed.
Knowing the actual location and depth of buried infrastructure helps contractors plan crossings, connections and excavations more accurately before larger equipment begins working.
Precise Excavation in Tight Areas
Hydrovac equipment can remove soil through a vacuum hose, making it useful where access is limited or where only a small excavation is required.
It can be used to create narrow trenches, expose curb stops, uncover existing services, excavate around tree roots and complete other detailed work with less disruption than conventional excavation.
Cleanouts and Material Removal
Hydrovac equipment can also remove soil, sediment, slurry and loose debris from culverts, catch basins, tanks, vaults and other difficult-to-access areas.
The suitability of hydrovac service depends on the material, access, disposal requirements and the condition of the structure being cleaned.
Commercial, Municipal and Construction Support
Allto Construction supports excavation contractors, utility companies, municipalities, commercial properties and industrial facilities with scheduled and project-based hydrovac service.
Our excavation background helps us understand how hydrovac work fits into the larger project, including utility crossings, service connections, trenching, repairs and site restoration.
Emergency Hydrovac Service
Urgent utility exposure, blocked access points and excavation problems do not always happen during regular business hours. Hydrovac service may be available for emergency situations depending on crew and equipment availability.
